How banks decide

FOIR (fixed obligations to income ratio): all your EMIs, including the new one, usually can't exceed 40–60% of take-home pay. Tenure is limited so the loan ends by about age 60 for salaried borrowers. LTV (RBI's loan-to-value limits): banks can lend up to 90% of the price for homes up to ₹30 lakh, 80% up to ₹75 lakh, and 75% above that.
